Not fooled by last night,it was Cardiff.A good tactician sets up a team to play the way that suits the players he has.All of the excuses about what he's inherited don't hold water.How quickly we forget Huddersfield,Newcastle.Watford and Wolves at home.

Agree, we beat a team with no strikers, there best striker is one we deemed not good enough and he didn’t even play. Last night changes nothing, but he will definitely be here for the rest of the season so he has a good chunk if games to turn it around. I still don’t think he has what it takes to do it though.

He will deffo change one of the wingers, he does it every single game. Most of the time there is no logic to it though.

anything lower than 10th is a disaster imo, I know he said he wants to better BFS but I'd be surprised if it happens.
I don't care how he wins but if get chalks up a good chunk of wins towards the end of the season I'll happily give him next season to sort it out.

Good to see him getting angry on the touchline last night. Seems a bit more fired up and ready to make changes to players who are not performing like with Rico last night.

If he starts Lookman or Bernard over Theo on sunday i will be very happy.

Genuinely think it would have been curtains for him if we'd have lost yesterday and then got beat in the Derby, Goodison would have incredibly toxic that it was difficult to envisage him surviving - so yesterday was a massive, massive win for him.

I don't think he's out of the woods yet, a Derby defeat could spiral us down the same sort of dreadful form that the reverse fixture did, so a point at the weekend at the very least is imperative.

I really want him to do well, he's a likeable manager and goes about his business in the right way. Hopefully a positive result in the Derby can serve as a spring board for a really good end to the season.

I've a feeling his inability to organise an effective defense will always be his achilles heel. Digne doesn't happen to be in position to clear early on and Keane manages to grab the shirt and last night could have been very different.With the games we have left sadly the best we can expect are re-runs of the Arsenal and Man U away games,some missed chances and plucky losses.

As far as Silva is concerned the only people he needs to convince is Brands and Moshiri.
They will have a far more in depth knowledge of how well he is doing behind the scenes as well as match day. It is they who will decide to stick or twist come the season end.
As much as we may fume and harangue him online if he is given the boards support and can fulfill his potential, we will all be singing his praise and forgetting any first season indiscretions.

The problem for him is the damage has already been done. 5 of our remaining 10 games left are against top 6 sides which means 7th is very unlikely unless Watford and Wolves go into freefall (Leicester will no doubt also get new manager bounce and go on a winning run).

Ive stuck to my guns all season at minimum we needed to have finished the season in 8th and showing some signs of progress on the playing front with a view of battling for 7th next season and improving in the cup competitions.

One win against a side Watford blitzed by 4 a few days ago doesnt change anything as nice a win as it was. I also think the scoreline flattered us as 1st half we were abysmal.

Just give it a rest, your getting on everyones tits.

Ho ho - I thought we were still in dreadful form! Will be interesting to see how the team measures up, as there are many hard fixtures ahead in short order.

I genuinely think that's really harsh/based on a pre-conceived idea which you won't allow to be changed.

Since getting thrashed by Spurs we've conceded 11 goals in our last 10 league games, that really isn't a bad record at all. For context it's better than Arsenal (14), Chelsea (16) and even the all singing all dancing Nuno's wonderboys from Wolves (14). It's the same amount as Spurs themselves, and only 1 more than City. Our record over the course of the season has been fairly consistent in that regard too, with only the period immediately preceding and including that Spurs game - where we conceded 11 in 3 games - ruining what would otherwise be a pretty excellent defensive record. We've had problems from set pieces yes, but overall our defence really hasn't been that bad.

When you get into the realms of talking about what might have happened if a player wasn't where he was supposed to be, and another player had fouled someone when they didn't in order to make a point, I think it's reasonable to say that you may not be looking at things very objectively.
