3 out of the last 4 managers have been more 'ambitious' appointments. perhaps its time to go back to basics.

Newcastle getting Benitez was ambitious, Weet Ham getting Pellegrini, Leeds getting Bielsa. That’s ambition. Top trophy winning managers. Shelling out millions to lure Martinez, Koeman and Silva isn’t.

Just said in the match thread, I have given him my backing from day dot. Ultimately, it looks like a squad of players lost of ideas, inspiration and have downed tools.

The "he's great" soundbites from the players are a mirror to that of Martinez's final run in.

That group of players should easily dispatch Millwall, Southampton, Brighton, Leicester, West Ham and the countless other dross teams we have played.

I refuse to believe that we live in a world where THE BEST WE CAN GET was a manager who relegated a club and then got sacked from a DIFFERENT club all within a year.

Well Martinez has proven with Belgium that his teams can defend provided he has the quality.
So I'm not sure, with respect, why you think they are so different?
