@GrandOldTeam, Can you make this the banner image for this thread?

Neither, but I think Dyche offers a better chance of keeping us up with the current group of players and at the moment that's all I am bothered about

Big resets (yet again) can wait until we are safe.

I agree with Davek. Dyche to try and keep us up. Then Bielsa in the Summer, with a real chance to clear out most of them, and bring a few in. Too few of the current crop are good athletes, and route 1 football is currently our best chance of staying up. I love the idea of Bielsa, we haven’t seen entertaining football for way too long, but our situation is desperate, and it would be a miracle if Bielsa came in now, and we stayed up. Then again, I don’t think it’s unlikely Dyche keeps us up either! But I reckon he’d give us some sort of chance.
That could be ideal, although i dont know if Dyche (or Big Sam) would want to come in for half a season. Maybe if we offer a massive bonus to keep us up and an option to extend...

I voted Bielsa, because I figure that if he came, it would mean he was happy that the squad would be in a manageable position for him by the end of the window.

I don’t think there’s a scenario where he gets the job and then realises he can’t manage this team.

I went for Dyche simply because I can see no realistic scenario where our board hand him the total control he demands. He would basically say “I am only taking this job of you gobshites have zero say in things“ and I absolutely cannot see that happening. So Seany babes it is!

I voted Dyche, just because I believe that to be the most pragmatic option in our situation. If we had been up and down, in the the last couple of months with some good football mixed in with atrocious, to leave us where we are then maybe Bielsa would fit more.

Close call out of the 2 though.

It's disgraceful that those two are the main two.

Two men completely opposed to each other in style and substance. It's like having Corbyn as your first choice at a general election and Hitler as your second choice.

I want neither - both are experienced at bringing teams up from the championship though.

Bielsa would at least cleanse the club - he is incredibly fussy and after having him here it could be of huge benefit to future managers and evertonians. But you risk short term pain. He doesn't always have great success with clubs but he sets them up the right way.

Dyche is known for being a long ball merchant, plays dull football and had some success with Burnley. He's a boyhood Liverpool fan though. You'd fancy him to potentially keep the club up but everyone knows it would be short term and the problems would start again next season.

The club have basically given a choice. Go out all guns blazing to try and stay up or go inverted, be hard to beat and bore results out of everyone.

On reflection I would rather Bielsa. Just.

But given those two as a choice (and if Allardyce is the secret kingmaker) then I'd actually rather Lampard returned. And I hated him!
