Indeed. Everton are a basket case club. Nothing makes sense.

I can't explain that either. I was gobsmacked he got the contract extension offer.

But here's the thing - if he was unhappy with his role to the point he's now walked away, why did he sign that extension? It makes no sense - that's why there's no excusing him.

Personally, I think Moshiri runs the show, Brands couldn't stand up to him and was happy to ride the gravy train, and he's been sacked this evening after Moshiri finally realised he's got to have a competent team in place.

At least I hope so.

I'm not counting two substitute/squad goalkeepers on a free mate. The same way I wouldn't bash a manager for Jan Mucha.
