So who is your underrated established 15-20 goal a season striker?

It wasn’t my post, I was just pointing out that you might get a couple of decent centre halves for £20m rather than the £120m you were claiming. I would think that’s a pretty big difference and enough to make most people accept that their post was a ridiculous one, but I’m not overly surprised to see that you’ve decided to claim you were still right.

The irony of you calling someone else condescending! It’s basically your MO. I’m not riled in the slightest, i was just saying I couldn’t answer your question and had never claimed that I could.

Correct. He was talking about the need for `centre halfs' plural in the weeks leading up to the window.

I would suggest he was begging Brands to get him at least 1, probably 2 established CB's.

Brands got no one.

Silva's first press conference after the window as I pointed out at the time his body language was appalling. He looked a dead man walking and although hes not a good manager he is intelligent and he knew he was doomed.

At press conferences at the same time he mostly praised the `gone' Gueye but diodnt say anythoing positive about any recruits and would not say of the team was strong than the previous season.

He basically said

It happened in 2018 with the examples I gave, so I don’t know why not.

Besides too much is being placed on not getting a CB, we are shocking going forward, a CB wont help that.

Disagree with that. Football's a fluid game, being able to defend higher up the pitch, winning the ball back earlier, not letting yourself get turned consistently, being able to cover for the full backs allowing them to push on without being worried about the counter etc can most certainly make you better going forward.

If you have decent defenders then you can win games 1-0.

If you have crap defenders you generally need to score 3 goals to win games.

We are conceding goals because we have crap defenders and we dont score enough goals to compensate because
are CF's are crap.

We have good defenders being asked to continually play a defensive system that has failed time and time again because of a stubborn, clueless dolt

We don’t score enough because said dolt has only one tactic, play to the flanks and cross it in instead of playing to our strikers strengths. We have an England u21 international who is good in the air being asked to be a lone striker, an young full Italian international who thrives on balls being played through the middle getting misused as a lone striker of the bench and a Turkish international who is also good on the ground not even getting a chance to play

The clown is too stubborn/scared to play 2 up top and it’s killing our chances of actually doing anything in this league

I'm not blaming Brands for the inability of the manager to get a tune out of what i consider a good first team. I do blame him for leaving us short .

I agree with your point but Zouma wont help, he didn't last season, when Silva was at Watford he couldn't do it either.

I've always been a fan of defending from the back but you still have to have an attack, his favourite players include DCL, Walcot and Morgan, and exclude Bernard and Kean

It was a year ago? I don’t think prices have changed that much in that time. There may well have been examples from this summer, but it’s a bit early to tell.
