Not that many of you care but I thought I'd some of you might be interested in how the match report described Manny's effect on the match when he was introduced in the 21st minute:

"However, it was only after the introduction of former Everton midfielder Manuel Fernandes shortly after the 20-minute mark that the hosts really began to turn the screw. Unai Emery withdrew Ruben Baraja from the action and while it wasn't clear whether Baraja was carrying an injury, the change proved to be the defining moment of the match as Fernandes' greater energy and purpose immediately caught the eye and turned the balance of play directly in favour of Los Che."

Could have used him against Pompey yesterday.

His style of play suits the slower pace of spanish football more.

I watched that match and he looked very good. He still tries those stupid passes though. he seemed to pull the strings in Valencia's midfield and even took the free kicks which I thought was odd as I thought David Villa would've pulled rank on him.

Nevermind, I think he'll be good in the La Liga but half decent in the premiership. If he can cut out those sloppy passes he'll be a real player.

or is that "manny him" i.e. keep slipping him balls all night, sometimes you'l try to slip them through a crack thats a little too tight, other times there'll be a gaping hole exposed at the back

Excellent player, I watched the game to see how he performed. Dissapointed when he didn't start but he came on and showed his class.

He can pass right through the middle of the park from deep positions, a very rare thing to be honest. His passing is excellent.

I believe, we seriously are going to regret not signing him. Manny has everything in his locker to become one of the very best in the world. Would even have preferred him over Moutinho. We really missed an golden opportunity with this lad.
