I've said it elsewhere but today really shows it - we will never improve beyond being an organised and set piece team whilst we have an entire midfield (onana, doucs, iwobi, gana, Davies) who cannot pass to a team mate on anything like a regular basis.

Not even difficult passes, fairly straight forwards ones.

The eulogising of Gueye among sections of the fanbase is telling. He is, demonstrably, a very good ball-winner and an appalling passer of a football. I think a player needs to be a good ball-winner and a good passer to be worthy of a place in any defensive midfield position, but as long as we think Gueye will do, we are doomed to mediocrity and worse.
