Managerial severance packages.

In the scheme of things, are they really huge? See, if it’s about £6m, and we’re still paying Koeman and Allardyce, if we sack Silva that’s still only £18m.

We paid £35m for Gbamin for example.

Can we afford not to sack Silva?
You will get people saying it puts the club in a bad light and will put future managerial targets off,but I think if a manager wants to take the job he will whatever,if its an established name, for example Howe,he would take the job as its a step up in size and wages,if it was a manager from overseas who wants to break into the premiership he eaither wont care or wont know about it,so IF the board think a change is needed then it should have been done already

Depends what the board deem our ambitions to be. Surely the team will click enough for us to salvage an embarrassing yet safe Premier League position this season. On the face of it, given their lack of action, it seems that that is all they require. In which case, Silva will remain.

Not at all.
Was it a movie quote about an offer you can't refuse.
Monetary terms obviously.
That waste of space Ashley Williams said similar when he joined us .

Gbamin was 22.5m rising to 25.5m with appearances (arf). Not sure where people keep getting 35m from.

He'll get paid the value of his remaining contract to clear out his desk... I need to find one of these jobs where I get a vast pile for being guff.

Obviously there will be some that wont accept the vacancy, simply because they are top tier,in demand bosses, but to a majority the top flight of English football is the place to be seen and to fill your pockets

We won't be paying Koeman anything now, he was on a three year contract, so he'll now have to get by on the 600k / year the Dutch are paying him.

Can we afford not to.

That’s the reason managers get sacked so often, as it’s the cheapest way to change things.

I’m surprised he hasn’t been sacked already, they must be looking at a replacement now; it’s only a matter of time.

Whatever the cost to get rid, the potential cost of relegation or at best a mid table finish far outweighs any severance package he could be entitled to.
