None of them were really great saves.

Rooney one ok it was good reactions but siggurdson one he had it well covered and gave him no chance. Sandro wasn't gonna score from there against DDG and it didn't look like it was on target anyway. Overall not a lot of chances where I really felt we were lucky. 2 half chances and a good one.

Well from my seat at the ground they all looked like excellent saves. Point I was trying to make, which seems uncomfortable with some, is that it was not all gloom and doom. Sure the score flattered them and made it look like a drubbing, but it wasn't and they were on the back foot for quite a good portion of the game.

So they were on the back foot but still managed to batter us 4-0. I'm struggling to find the positives tbh

But we didn't equalise, and possession is completely meaningless. Scoring goals is the aim of the game and we didn't score a single one, but United scored FOUR. I'd say a team that scores 4 goals and concedes none deserves the win...
Fair enough. And I'd say if we'd equilased with Rooneys chance it would have been deserved

Yeah, Mourinho himself agreed 3 and 4 was a direct result of the second goal and that he didn't expect it to be a 4-0 after 70 mins played. But as a united fan, I don't think a draw was a fair result like a few are suggesting . United did enough to win and unlike Liverpool, our defence (incl GK) does enough to get clean sheets

It's relative mate. I'd rather lose 4-0 to Utd and show signs that we can string passes together and look like we can cause problems for a team than lose 3-0 to Atalanta and look completely devoid of ideas, directionless and without the first idea of what a football is.

The performance in the Utd match left me with the impression that we could actually win some matches against lesser teams and that the players actually want to try.

The Atalanta performance gave me the opposite impression.

They played really poorly and still won easily. It doesn't matter if you can keep the ball in the middle of the pitch if your defenders make basic errors, and the forwards can't score

I don't get what people are basing this on though? We barely laid a glove on Manchester United and if they capitalized on a host of errors before the Williams one it could have been a cricket score.

Running around a bit and threatening to have a shot on goal does not fill me with much optimism.

So you don't think it was an improvement on the Atalanta game?

I'm sure it was. And in my book, that means we can improve further.

In all honesty no. I thought it was a terrible performance devoid of any ideas and littered with shockingly bad passes.

In boxing parlance we peppered them with loads of little jabs that did no damage and then they just punched us square on the face to knock us out.

The pen wasn't a pen but the rest was fair. The balance of play or possession was very even but that doesn't mean much if you have Ashley Williams in defence and no one up front. Goals will be conceded and not scored. I thought Utd were very poor, but probably dipped to Everton's level. Had Everton been better, then perhaps Utd would have upped their game

Think it'd be more accurate to say we slipped in a pool of sweat, fell over and gave ourselves a concussion. Then they set upon us, and we couldn't defend.

Cuco? Yeah, he played better (thank goodness) but MoTM he was not...I'm still not impressed with him. We need to see what JonJoe Kenny can do at RB. Nobody played that well but if anybody was MoTM it was Davies or Rooney.

..funny that, I thought he was disappointing. He got on the ball lots and found himself in great positions but I thought he was wasteful at times and a bit careless in possession. Still love watching him play but Koeman needs to manage his game time.
I'd say Rooney was ace at getting into them great positions but the rest of the team seem on a different page to him.... So suppose I agree thats for Koeman to manage.
