We gave Yaya too much time and Coleman was guilty of watching the ball rather than knowing where his man was for the first. ?

I think he knew full well where the man was. He was making a superb run in behind to get on the end of a top quality pass.

Of course Coleman was watching the ball, he still tracked the man but it was too late due to the quality of Cities play.

i lost count of the number of long balls played to Naismith yesterday - but i cannot recall him winning one -
he jumps as high as he can and misses the ball by at least a head -
Martinez should have spotted this and corrected it

How? By grafting another head on top of his?

Seriously though, It was pissing me off too.

....like everybody else I'm disappointed when we lose but for me this is tempered when we play well and look a threat. We were deservedly beaten yesterday, but were playing the likely Champions who have a brilliant record at home. In the first half we slugged it out and caused them a few problems, but it was pretty much one-way traffic in the 2nd. If anything the result will manage expectation. We have improved from those first few games and I'm more content than I was in the early weeks of the season. We are in transition and heading in the right direction but there is no magic wand that will instantly put us with the big spenders.

Could we have done much about their goals? We gave Yaya too much time and Coleman was guilty of watching the ball rather than knowing where his man was for the first. Distin perhaps should have anticipated Silva's pass and got closer to Aguero. I'm not quite sure why Seamus had ended up in the left back position for the penalty, but he let the attacker get behind him again.

I think the midfield needed to do better. Silva played a long pass right through the middle to Aguero for the first. He had the freedom of our half for the second and Yaya could turn and pick his pass to Zabaleta unchallenged for the third.

Maybe once Barry returns and Gibson regains fitness we'll have more protection for the back four?

All goals come from some kind of mistake. Against top class players it doesn't need to be horrendous or glaring mistakes, just a slight loss of positon. To be fair, our goal came from a bigger mistake than theirs.

We just weren't good enough, it was a solid 35 minutes, but we were badly struggling towards the end of the first half, and needed to go in level big time.

Colemans a [Poor language removed] for ruining the shape of the team by stupidly arguing with Negredo, if you're gonna square up to him, at least go down like a sack of ****, that would of got the referee to stop play, and stopped the second goal.

I felt Naismith and McCarthy played well, Naismith just isn't a 90Minute player. Osman is just dog****, why keep playing him, Gibson, Barry and Pienaar all back will mean this **** doesn't have to play again. No faulting his commitment, just a crap player!

Ask a City fan for their opinion of Georgi Kinkladze and most will wonder who the feck he is.

Not at all mate, that's just a mad thing to say. Do you think if Everton received the investment we have that all of a sudden your fans would just forget about Andy Gray or big Dunc?... We love our Legends at City. The glory hunters haven't really attached on to us so much yet. 99% of City fans are the same blues as always. At least round here in Manchester. Kinky was my hero in high school. Absolute madness that a player of his quality played along side some utter ****e in our teams back them. I tell kids today he was the Messi of the 90's, he was that good on the ball...

I don't have the post count to post links yet, but check out the 10 min Kinkladze vid on YouTube. You don't forget the unforgettable.

If Coleman had ran back with Negredo he would have been able to intercept the pass or at least block him from shooting. Everybody (Jagielka, McCarthy and Osman included) had eyes on the ball but we didn't get close enough and we didn't anticipate the pass.

Yeah, all goals are preventable. Negredo and Aguero's goals happened in a flash. Distin and Coleman both could have anticipated a little better, if we're being highly critical, but we certainly should have done much better with the passes that lead to the goals. We were either too far away or we jockeyed rather than getting close and making them rush a pass. They had too much time to get their head up and time the pass with the run.
