Man City fails FFP rules, should we complain about UEFA decision?

I've never known the Champions League to be anything other than what it is and I like the style of the tournament. Would hate for it to be just the league winners.

before the Champions League mate the league was way way more open, its just an added level of finances and global income from the exposure keeping the 'top' at the top

I know but let's face it, it's never ever going to back to being that so we might as well just accept that. I like the format of the Champions League

The current one is miles better than the double group stage horror show, still be better as a straight up knock-out comp though IMO, same with the both comps though in that regard

Can someone explain to me what good it will do to a team like Man City to fine them????
Teach them a lesson they knew the rules but still broke them, Kick them out of all European football for a season.
And if we should take their place then so be it.

I think the decision to punish a team which breaks the FFP rules with a fine (i.e. pay money because you're financially not in order!) quite surreal. Magritte and Dali would have a field day.

True, but I liked the idea that only champions participated in the champions league (hence the name) AND that the champion of let's say Luxembourg could play Real Madrid in the first round.
I know this time will never come back, but I find it sad.

Plus the current system will only make the rich teams richer and the gap between other countries and teams evergrowing.

One small fly in the ointment for FIFA/UEFA ......... what is to stop top European clubs saying "Sod you" and forming their own Europa League as was once touted? Driven by TV money, it would be a goer. Look how the Rugby clubs took on the Heineken format until it suited them

European cup - 2 legs, home an away, high stakes, fewer games (especially if less successful), high tension = proper football, proper football tournament.
Champions league - fabricate as many games as you can to bleed the punters dry watching tactical encounters in a group stage - then it get's interesting (potentially) - apart from the fact that the HUGE amount of money ploughed into the clubs that qualify means the chances are, they'll be there again next year = dull as hell STAGNATION and stratification of leagues.

Not all change is progress. And I don't accept the "it will always be with us" premise. Dinosaurs aren't, and Hitler isn't. Thank ghods! This is why I said - isn't it time we took our sport back from the media, who are supposed to REPORT on it rather than AFFECT it.

I'm sure Arsenal would be better suited to complain as City's ouster from the CL means Arsenal get a group stage place. We should just keep schtum and if Arsenal presses their case and succeeds, we'd simply inherit the Gunners' place without having opened our yaps, thereby maintaining a dignity throughout the proceedings.
Dignity?

That's 20-40 million at stake. That's why we should press the issue. Even we might just stroll there and put up a half-hearted effort (getting thru that qualifier, of course), that silly money is too good to resist.

Why. Would they? They all wanted FFP

pretty sure it wouldn't be a waste of our time tbh. i mean there's no way in hell they'd ban city and all the others that will fail this rule, the sport is bent and those in charge are only interested in money - that's all this ever was, nothing to do with integrity.

but think we should complain every year, just to be a pain in the arse tbh, think every club which has obided by it should make a complaint, football is the sport where cheats prosper.

I see your point, but what's also to stop UEFA from rigging another tough qualifier for us and bringing in another bent ref? If we complain, they might see us as annoying outsiders to their establishment and try to swat us away. City won't be getting banned anyhow, so this is all academic.
