A good manager would make the most of some good Heerenveen players, he hasn't.

They have 2/3 players I would consider to be good. The rest are bang average. They are 7th. He's doing a good job.

In a bang average league though, 2 or 3 good players is enough to do well IMO.

I see your point but 4/6 teams above them have much better squads each containing 7/8 good players. He's still doing a decent job, would be interesting to see what he could do here
