Transfer Rumour Malick Fofana

“Can do a job on the right, played there 4 times when he was 13”

“Modern wingers can do both.”

“Good cover for both wings.”

“It’s all about depth. We need at least 2 players for each position to challenge for the title. Except RB, LB, RW.”

Drives me mad. Need a RW, buy a player whose £££ value is based on him playing RW. Or if buying a LW because he is better than current left side options, that’s great, but sell one of them (or don’t bring them in on loan)
Exactly. Buying someone to purposely play them out of position in a position they have no history of being any good at has got to be the definition of insanity. They are not going to suddenly become good at it just because its Everton. If anything we will make them even worse.

Here's a mad idea. Just a buy a right winger.

Probably a good thing that no one told the two best right wingers in the league to stick to their position throughout career when they spent a lot of their younger years playing left back.

A young Saka played 30-40 matches for Arsenal as left back, left midfield and left winger before he got his first match as a right winger.

can you see a pattern mate ?

It is not like we have many options.

Everton as of now aren't very attractive. Not very good and the style of play is a blast from the past.

Fofana is a player likely to be sold and he's been on the list of many clubs this summer. Most of them more attractive than Everton. They can offer more money, Champions League football and good possibilities to win trophies.

As on now, the 4 clubs interested in him seems to be Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton. He'll never commit to Everton if the other clubs ask him to stay put because they might come in for him. And Lyon won't sell him for a reasonable price to Everton when the big clubs have asked them to be informed about any bids.

For Everton to sign such a player, they need that other clubs decide to not get him. Either because they go for someone else, or that Everton make sure the fee is too high for them to see any value in getting him.

Lyon's asking price was €60-70 million a couple of months ago. It has since dropped and will continue to drop.

I am happy with Everton showing ambition and try to sign their top targets instead of settling with an overpriced 7th or 8th choice target from Championship.

None of those clubs are signing him.

Arsenal just got Eze
Bayern confirmed today only loans now
Liverpool? Really?

Seems to be lots of Fofana to Arsenal rumours doing the rounds today. Room for both him and Eze, but strange to offer Trossard new contract if a new winger comes in.

Liverpool have been linked to Fofana all summer. They need another offensive player. They will get Isak if Newcastle sell him, but if they can't get Isak they are likely to go for a winger that can share minutes with Gakpo.

It’s not that mad. Lots of players can play multiple positions. We’re not buying a winger and asking him to play fullback or centre half. Good midfielders/attackers can adapt and play in multiple positions. I ‘d sooner buy a good left winger and play him on the right than buy an average right winger.

Doesn't seem to have that choice. Lyon have told him he has to go
If he`s still under contract with them he can stay at Lyon till it expires. It`s the opposite whats going on with Isak and Newcastle where club want player to stay but player decides the contract he signed means nothing and he wants to leave.

Firmino was Liverpool's new number 10 and awful under Rodgers. Rodgers was replaced with Klopp and Firmino became their new number 9.

When Firmino was sold, left winger Gakpo became Klopp's new number 9.

Klopp left and Gakpo became a left winger again, because Slot wanted left winger Diaz to be his number 9. Diaz did so well as a 9 that Bayern Munich paid silly money to bring him in as a left winger.
