Make Rage Against The Machine Christmas #1

If the X Factor winning the Christmas number 1 is a good day for the music industry, then maybe they should put the music industry down.

Jesus H. Christ, every time I sign into Facebook I'm (or was in any case) accosted by another request to join in this ****ing stupid thing.

I disdain X Factor, and I'm happy they haven't got #1, but way too many people (not here necessarily) seem to think that they are somehow "sticking it to the man" by getting RATM to #1. RATM are signed to Echo Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music. Sony music are the primary people behind the ****ing X Factor in the first place. RATM, for all their claims or anarchism, are essentially a boyband in a certain genre, puppets of the music industry who have spent 20 years making money for the machine they like to think they're singing against.

So instead of Sony making a certain amount of money from X Factor, which is what X Factor is, a money-making vehicle, they are now getting over twice that amount for RATM and Joe whatshisface.

Absolutely furious about how self-congratulatory people are being over making money for a multi-national organisation, thinking they have just taught 'the man' a lesson. ****ing blind ****s.

This isn't directed at anyone in this thread, I haven't even read the thread as a matter of fact.

I don;t follow music anymore, good bands went out years ago, it's just mostly crap nowadays that I simply can't stomach, the last record I purchased was on vinyl, it's been that long.

Don't give a monkeys who's top at christmas anymore, BUT, I have to say if a proper bonafide group out of Los angeles, rather than some awful, talentless, leather faced [Poor language removed] is the Xmas #1 then that's a good thing I suppose.

I've just lost any interest in music I once had, due to the constant avalanche of crap being churned out for as long as I can remember.

There will be those who disagree, but that's how I feel about it, there's no sense in lying.

It's not about 'sticking it to the man'. It's about good music vs. [Poor language removed] music.

Would help to read the thread to figure that out.

No. People were just fed up of a crap cover by some X Factor singer being number 1 at xmas every year.

Good music is still being made. Probably more so than ever due to inexpensive instruments and recording equipment.

This music doesn't get anywhere near the charts. Most real bands don't even bother releasing singles. I honestly can't remember the last single I bought. They make their money from album sales and constant touring.

Have to agree with Heat - there still is and always will be good music being produced , the main problem is that you have to look behind that hideous veneer of manufactured crap (which again has always been there) to find all the hidden gems of today (y)
