Nothing wrong in twisting the truth a little bit, as I prefer to say.

Except;

On CV's and job interviews,

When it's amusing,

When it's tactful,

When I'm in trouble,

And as a point of principal, always to door to door sales reps.

Other than that I'm the most honest person I know, except for Mrs Whitebootman who knows everything and so doesn't need to lie.

My response in lying situations is usually just "Ahuhe", like a laugh with an ambiguous enough sound that it could just be a noise. This followed by a smile and blowing air through your nose is the most neutral possible response to anything.
