Yeah...can't believe he hasn't given Stones or Barkley a chance.
Never claimed it was mate.
But don't think playing one the best fullbacks in the league out of position whilst he is still fit enough to play his preferred role was the best way to solve the issue. Garbutt or Oviedo perhaps although not exactly sold on that either but definitely not Baines.

What about when Baines wasn't there? I think that's more to the point. Writing was probably on the wall the moment he saw a 34 year old crock playing out of position ahead of him when Baines was missing.
But he played a few days later in the far more important and difficult game away against Wolfsburg. Fair enough if there was a pattern of Hibbert being chosen ahead of him but it was one game in the same week as a must win match, do you honestly think that 90 mins against West Ham was enough for Garbutt to change his whole career over?

Exactly...I don't whole heartedly agree with you all of the time, but you are spot on here.
I agree but age wise it would have been nice to keep a 16 year old we paid a million for at the age of 16 who is a under 21 left back pity and sad it's panned out this way!
He may flop, but my gut feeling he will make the grade maybe!
