I'm exaggerating of course, but there's a genuine point there.

Fans say they want effort and commitment but then call the likes of Hibbert, osman, Neville and cleverley fit to burn when they offer it in spades because they're not talented enough. So then we turn to talented players like lukaku, mirallas and Deulofeu and we criticise them for not working hard enough and being selfish. In short, you need to be outrageously talented and work like a Trojan or you'll get pelters. Then you've got people saying jags, Barry, Howard etc should do the decent thing and retire/rip their contract up because they've stayed too long and players like lukaku, stones etc should be publicly flogged because they haven't stayed long enough. We don't ask much.

There are naturally talented people in all walks of life, but not all of them amount to much because they thought they could get by on their talents alone. There is nothing worse than wasted talent. In other words, the difference between a talented player and a superstar is the work ethic. All we, as fans, ask for is hard work from all of our players, but especially those with a natural gift for it, as they do tend to slack-off and play below their potential.
As for player tenure? Those with talent will always attract or be attracted by more successful teams, and those without the talent, will be happy to have a job. I don't think we ask for too much at all really.

I'm not criticising by the way, I'm including myself in the description.

It's not true to say 'all' we ask for is hard work. There are still people now, 8 years later who have not forgiven hibbert and osman for having bad games in the cup final. I've seen numerous people say they should never have played for the club again because they were poor that day. Do you think those players weren't trying?

We want the best for our club, there's nothing wrong with it. We don't always see things from the other side though, which is where maybe we ask too much. A foreign player coming over to play here is never going to feel the way we do about Everton, yet sometimes we expect them to. We'd give our right arm to play for the club, so we get a cob on when someone wants to leave and call them judas and a snake. When you take a step back you see you're being a bit daft. Or most do anyway.

Where was his urge for ambition when Moshy wasnt even in the picture?

Rom, youre nothing but a Judas with a goal scoring record.
TBF the ambition in his rhetoric hasn't changed that much. He has been going on about playing for a big CL regular for years. To be a true Judas, you have to at least act totally faithful and unwavering in your belief and desire to play for your team and then, without warning, reveal your true self by stabbing your "loved one" in the back.

Youre actually right...if you start to analyze it further like you did. I never really loved him cause I saw that he really wasnt a blue. Cant wait to see the back of him.

He's the best player we've had in the EPL era and our best EPL signing. So that bolded bit is BS.

I'm a bit old fashioned me, but I always prefer a player that wants to play for the shirt over a player who is looking for his next move. As good player as he is, no player is bigger than the club.

Does that make the opening sentence inaccurate?

As happy as I've been with rom since the day he joined us for the sheer number of goals he's scored for us, I don't think he has ever had the affiliation or rapport with the supporters. This is solely down to the point, he always seemed to see us a a stepping stone to 'greater things'. He has all the traits of a modern day footballer: powerful athlete, committed professional, works hard on his game to be the best he can. But sadly sees playing for us as just a necessary step, before he realises his dream of a champions league club.
