Lukaku V Kane and Barkley V Alli

Lukaku's a much better goalscorer; Kane is a better footballer.

All bias aside as Evertonians, Kane is the bigger, more consistent asset in a modern football team. Not much in it though.

As for Barkley and Alli, that one is much easier - Barkley is by far the superior footballer with the higher potential ceiling.

This and could probably only simplify two points on it -
If, Rom added Kane's work ethic to his game, he'd be 'nearly' the complete package.
If, Ross was more selfish and went for goals himself, as opposed to trying to create/assist, he'd be higher in the scoring charts but, less of the player that links our play.

Sorry you are making excuses. Kane scores goals anywhere. At the end of the day, Kane scores more than Lukaku. You make it sound like Spurs are the Harlem Globetrotters and he has amazing service. Kane works hard for his goals. If you honestly think Lukaku would beat Kane's amazing goal record in a better team, you are deluded. Kane's scoring ratio is onscene. Lukaku could only dream of his numbers.

Some of the points raised on this thread have been biased towards Lukaku, but you have done that as well yourself regarding Kane. You have dismissed the fact that Kane has been playing in a very good team for the past 3 seasons, where Spurs have finished 5th, 3rd (2nd for most of the season), and are now 2nd. That cannot be just written off as insignificant when Lukaku has been playing in a poor side for the previous 2 seasons, finishing with 47 points both years and ending up 11th. We are now coming 7th, and are better this season but have still been through a poor spell that Spurs haven't, 1 win in 11 in October - December.

I also posted the goal tallies of both players excluding penalties. In the past 2 seasons that puts them both equal as Lukaku has 18 this season, to Kane's 15, whilst Kane would have had 20 last season to Lukaku's 17. That is despite Kane playing in a far superior side so no, we are certainly not deluded for claiming that Lukaku would do even better in a better team.

As for the statement that Lukaku 'could only dream of his numbers'. That's a ridiculous statement.

I think Kane is excellent, and wouldn't say Spurs fans should think Lukaku is better given Kane's goal record is better, but Kane hasn't been tested like Lukaku has. Lukaku also got 17 in 35 for West Brom. If Spurs have a bad season, finishing say 7th or lower any time soon, let's see how many goals Kane gets.
