As for the woodwork, the last time we had a keeper who had his angles covered perfectly was big nev, he didn't mind the ball clipping the bar or the post, all part of top keepers defence.

If anyone considers us lucky just watch the scum agst West Brom they not only have the refs on their side they've got the bloody VAR as well.

Lady Luck just shines on us ....never leaves our side does she? Off the top of my head, Esteban Fuertes scores his only Premiership goal for Derby against Everton in a 1 0 win....couldn't play in England as his Argentian/Italian passport wasn't valid (replay the game...no chance!), we've had Clve Thomas, Clattenburg, Collina every one of them famous for an injustice against Everton, Graham Poll disallowed Hutchisons ricochet in a derby for initially saying he was too close to the freekick changing his mind later to say he had blown for full time...by which time it was nestling in the Gwladys St net; lucky eh?

Had Tony Kay banned from football for a lifetime for the crime of betting on a game at another team the previous year, seen Alan Hansen virtually catch it on the goal line at Wembley, been champions when two world wars have broken out; been reminded by our neighbours that Europe's Champion side the year we had won the English league the year before were Steau Bucharest - reasons beyond our control had prevented our participation in that year's competition.

Lucky old Everton! That what keeps the wolves from the door isn't it....always rely on that rub of the green.... should be our motto!

Measuring "luck" and giving any kind of relatable definition in football terms is impossible but i think we've been quite fortunate this season to accumulate the amount of points we have.

Thinking about some of the wins, and draws, we've had this season i can't think of too many games that we deserved to win on the balance of play. In that regard, I guessgwe have had an element of luck about us this season.
