Still is easily our best player imo. It’s been so easy to throw our defenders under the bus, but the reality is they were drastically affected by the departure of a certain Gana Gueye. Fix the center of midfield and it will go a long way in fixing most of our issues.

yeah, he's not been as good as last season, but it was a high standard to live up to. Also teams would have done more to combat him this season now, like you say, if we get some proper movement in midfield and on the wings we'd have attacking options everywhere and he'll flourish even more.

He's a quality player who needs to form a better partnership with whoever is playing in front of him. Not sure he links up very well with our current crop of attackers who love running the channels.

Finding a midfielder that fills in and allows him to maraud forward (as Gueye did while he was here) would be massive in getting more out of him again. He’s been a lot more hesitant to bomb down the wing the season because of the the lack of security we have in midfield.

For the time being I think Delph would be the most suitable player that we have to do that but his injury record is a joke.

People saying he hasn’t had the best of seasons, and yet he’s still probably been our 3rd or 4th best player.
