I don't understand why Bernard has been dropped so often. Him and Digne linking up was one of the best aspects of our play last season.

The thing that people seem to have missed last year is that most of our success was due to a top level defense. The attack was average. The spearheads for that defense were Gana and Zouma. They're gone and in it's place is a less good defense and a still average attack. So he's been in and out because we are searching for more now that we aren't grinding out results as much.

He needs a real midfield to link with. Still an excellent ball player even when the crossing is a bit off. Asking him to defend a ton isn't his game.

I know this is ludicrous but does anyone think the fact he has a newborn since the start of the season has affected his performance..

Could be certainly not the same player , everything he does goes wrong and he is fouling a lot as he is getting caught out .

Poeple commentin on his below par delivery this season, the fact he has nevet been a great `defender'. He seems to do everything in too much of a hurry.
Lacks all the composure and field IQ of Baines.

And, he is still one of our best players.

Shows you how deluded so many of our fanbase has been regarding the ability of this squad.

Yep.

Definately held his leg a couple of times in the second half before going off. Was a big improvement from him, no surprise that lil Bernie on the left drifting into the pockets of space, dragging players in leaving Digne some space to work in!
