Silva & Brands told us upfront they had to prioritise offloading players first and understandably wanted to spend time together to discuss needs, take a proper look at our players and agree exactly who to target before buying. Obviously they could have chosen not to bother with any of that and repeat last year when we moved early and spent big...on Picford (thumbs up), Keane, Klaassen and Sandro! Of course it is never ideal to not have a whole preseason to bed players in but by season end & beyond it is far more important we have made good transfer decisions rather than making quick ones.
