Regarding the 'We go the game' tag, everyone knows it's what the perception on Merseyside has been for years.
Locally-based Evertonians, with somewhat of a keen interest in the club, by and large, do actually 'go to the game' (at Goodison).
Many locally-based Liverpool fans, generally, say 'I used to go but I can't get a ticket now' or 'I used to go but its too expensive now'.
There is some actual evidence backing this up, in terms of, you ask any of the hotels in the city centre, or any of the taxi drivers in the city, and nearly will tell you that their business is significantly boosted whenever Liverpool is at home, compared to when Everton is at home, indicating that tourists travel in for the game.
The second bit of evidence is highly visual - you look along the side of the road at Stanley Park before and during a Liverpool home game - the entire road is just full of coaches, most of which are for home supporters travelling up from outside the area. There is nowhere close to the same amount of 'outside-the-area' fans coming to Goodison for Everton home games.
There was also the National Football Fans survey from a few years back, which found that Everton have amongst the highest number of season ticket holders living within a 12 mile radius of the ground of any club in the country.
Hence, the tag 'We go the game' being applicable for Everton fans, and local Liverpool fans being well known to be lampooned as 'armchair supporters'.
