Long Throw In's

A goalkeeper can get booked and penalised for an 8 sec delay, but on Sunday, Spurs were taking over 30 secs for some throw ins. Dont know who comes up with these ideas 'to improve and speed up the game' but they need to look at this.
They are talking about bringing in the same time rule as they do for keepers, so if you take longer than say 6 seconds the throw in will be handed to the other team..

Something needs to be sorted cos its just another drain on the game.

Doing my head in. Takes about a minute to launch the ball in the box.

Brentford average 50 seconds to take a throw in.

Shouldn’t be allowed that.

Turning more and more into NFL where it’s just a stream of set pieces with massive breaks of play inbetween

I think managers are simply doing it to protect the players who are playing way too much football.

Should that be 'throws-in'?

Similar to plural of gin and tonic is gins and tonic?

Early pedantism this morning 😄
Surely, the throw-in and the gin and tonic have become such familiar and oft-cited phenomena that they have acquired, if you will, single entity status and deserve a final S all their own?
I don't hear gins and tonic much. As for throws-in, well really!

God, Slot complains about them and even on here people are wringing their hands about entertainment value and wasted time now! Don't drink the Kool-Aid. If it boils the RS then it is A. GOOD. THING. QED...

I don’t know why they stopped getting used tbh. If there’s a break in play and you have a chance to get players in the box and put the ball in there, be it directly from the throw or a resulting cross, it should definitely be utilised.

Would be like getting a corner and working the ball back to your keeper.

Only problem with them is it adds to the farcically redundant amount of added time being added to games - Forest v United for instance yesterday - 5 mins added time when there easily should have been 10. They just seem to make it up (usually in favour of a good storyline)
