TBH just worried about Wallcots fitness his calf was strapped up last week - I feel he may have been playing with injury for the last few games ....
I'd be surprised that Marco would risk him tbh. Especially with Lookman showing up so well in his cameo's.

Think both wingers will be told to do a lot of chasing back covering their full backs today. Can see Marco telling them to give 110% for 60 minutes then replace them.

I honestly wouldn't really mind losing this one as long as it's not a timid, pathetic loss.

I just want to see signs that we can go and compete consistently in big games with the right mindset. Not just try and survive them, but actively compete in them.

I'd prefer seeing that to a complete fluke of a 1-0 win to be honest, as it shows progress as a club.

They should win this, the pressure is all on them - it's a perfect chance for the players to set a marker for where we want to be at in terms of our future ambition.

It's probably come a bit early for us tbh

We're still really finding our feet whilst they're genuine contenders this season

For me, the performance is what really matters here. If we have a good go and lose, then we shouldn't lay into the team

Yeah defo mate. If we sneak it then great of course but we need to remember they are second and unbeaten for a reason.

As you say they just have to perform and fight. That’s the minimum we ask for.

A draw or a win nothing less....end of....

You would rather a narrow defeat over a scrappy 1-0 win?

Seriously?

Wait what?!

You’d rather us play well and lose than fluke a win?

The progress is clear already.

Think Eggs hit the nail on the head yesterday when he spoke about the League cup final replay in 84. Yes we were disappointed, but we also knew we'd seen a turnaround in Everton and nobody I knew was surprised when we went on to lift the FA cup 2 months later.

You get the same feeling now that we're turning things around.

I'd rather see us dominate the game and lose 1-0 than get battered and fluke a win 1-0.

Because the former is more encouraging for the club long term, whereas the latter is an indication that we have a ceiling.

Got to live in the moment and want the win. We could dominate today and lose then get relegated next season.

No it's not - it really isn't clear yet. I want to see a mentality shift in terms of the club - where we go to games to win by dominating the play.

It's easy to shell up and hope to nick one on the counter - it's harder to go to a big game with confidence and aim to pro-actively win the thing by being simply better than the opposition.
