Liverpool City centre hotels? Recommendations?

Not as bad as it look's, good deals and close to lime street and short walk to all city night spots/restaurants espec chinese and late night ressie's bar,
it's where we stop when we go up (infact there this friday)

I'm kind of reluctant to risk a hotel unless I know it's going to be cool 100%.
It will be the wifes birthday on this day, and the train is the Orient Express.
