no we went with a plan that didn’t work for 45 then we changed it and was ok

but not enough

your making out loads of teams go to anfield and attack … if they do they get picked off

The optimism comes from the fact that many of these players are good enough NOT to have been set up to give that first-half performance. This was a needless capitulation.

The result here is secondary. Liverpool were always likely winners for obvious reasons. But there are ways to lose. That first half hour was self-inflicted and unbecoming of our quality. We need to release the handbrake instead of trying to sneak something against the odds.
