I'll take that as a victory against the odds for us (never mind the final score). They were quivering in their boots until the final whistle. How can such a successful team have such unlikeable players, never mind their support?

Anyway back to the game in hand. Beto was unlucky not to score. Our defence was pretty solid ( a bit TOO solid in Tarky's case ), and my shout for MoM is Jake O'Brien. COYB

No. It's nothing like it. It is like saying that despite his diminishing physicality, he's still our best presser and one of the best in the league. Should he be in the team, I think. We need to find a replacement in the summer, but the question originally was "why do managers keep picking him?"
He really isn’t pal

Ok I'm going to say it.

Broja is rubbish.

Somebody must be seeing something I am not but him, Harrison, Keane and Doucoure I will be happy to see leave at the end of the season.
I will say none of our forwards are good enough to be honest. We definitely need to splash the cash on a forward.

First glimpse we had of him was exciting, as I recall, but he’s done nothing otherwise to alter my opinion that even when fit he’s painfully ordinary at best.

One minor purple patch years ago is very much the exception.

Needs a run of games like Beto has had, tough to judge when he’s getting 15 minutes here and there. Not sure he’ll get that run before the end of the season though.

Congrats to them for managing to win one of their cup finals this season.

Poor game. Subs too late. Once again they get away with all sorts and all their snide little pull backs and pushes etc.

Hardly a surprise though they are cruising the league title, at home and are 39 points clear of us and had to scrape by us with a dodgy goal when our options off the bench include players like Ashley Young and 2 strikers who haven’t scored a goal this season.

Myko my motm. Kept Salah quiet once again.

I am not overly disappointed as it’s clear our season is done for the most part.

However, I do think a few decisions went against us today. One of their players was offside and interfered with Tarky trying to clear it which led directly to their goal. Jota clapping the ref after being given a yellow is arguably another yellow. Van Dijk appeared to throw and kick Tarky in the same movement.

You can argue that Tarky’s challenge should be a red but for me, he wins the ball and his foot stays on the same trajectory it was always on so it’s not like he alters his leg to make sure he hits their player and he can’t make his leg disappear after connecting with the ball. If that’s a red these days then I am not sure what game we have got left and I wasn’t even alive for the good old days of proper football you hear about
