Little cack corner

Look at the 'similar threads' thing at the bottom...... :o

We were celebrating Arteta beating the first man nearly two years ago!

Have to agree with this. Since Arteta's groin problem his corners have been poor.

And another thing. Sometimes our players need to stop think about what they're doing with these set pieces like Corners. Too often we rush them. Making them poor.

Too often they're poor because we rush. Take a breather. THINK!

Another thing. Short corners. Mix it up by all means but make sure it goes in the box by narrowing the angle ffs. Don't over hit it either. Too much of that happening.

I think it's hilarious when Miky throws two arms up in the air for virtually every corner - what is that a signal for... "OK lads, this one's on the head of the first man"

I love Mikel but you know his corners are going to fall short or beat everyone, and lately all his free kicks have gone straight into the wall.

Yet Moyes was recently quoted saying he wishes more of our players would get a head on to one of our corners.

Kind of hard Dave when they hit the first man or fly over everybodies head.

You think he'd notice that don't you.

His problem is mate he's not a winger. I'd love to see Moyes give him the freedom to move about the pitch like what Pienaar gets. Pienaar moved into the middle loads on sunday and tried to effect the game. I think if Billy was given that freedom and released from the shackles we'd see a different player

he might start to get the freedom of the pitch when Pienaar leaves to bejewelled new lands

I recall just one and a half years back, with pretty much the same squad, we were killer, we were unbeatable on corners (i think even in lescotts last season, when he didn't turn up with a lot of goals mind you, we were the one team with the most corner goals scored in the PL), that also being defensive corners! What happened, i dunno. Though i think it's just a question of delivery and availability of good men. We are a very aerial team but we aren't really flogging it at the moment. We need felli back, giving us the option of pumping every high ball at him. It's a tactic that works.

Oh and yeah, the two arms in the air sign. Terrible! Methinks it never works as planned.

Took a lot of time to work out that arms in the air code, errr Boss, so its 1 arm for nearpost, 2 arms for farpost ?, Yes Mickey, OK Boss, doh, hit the first man again.
