It's all about options bud, and not just about one line up in particular. The line up you quoted was about my third suggestion.

This was my first suggestion :

LB's a born wingback and with Johnny's seeming willingness to get up and score I can see him doing that for us on the right. Nev's in for obvious reasons as are the 3 in midfield and Yak up front. This leaves Osman on the bench to fill in any of the 3 midfield spots, Jack for Nev or the middle, Felli and Billy for the mid etc. etc. We could actually start bossing the midfield with a set-up like this. Dunno...it's all fun and games anyhow.

This is similar to the preffered line up Australia play, In this formation Cahill thrives on service from the wide players. They can also tuck in and cause trouble around the bix, very effective...
