Limassol

Four of us flying from Liverpool to Larnaca, Tues to Saturday - we're going to hire a car from Larnaca and stay in Ayia Napa or Protaras (not many places open at that time of year, but still a few). Planning on arranging some kind of taxi/mini-bus to and from the game.

Anyone else planning on staying in the Ayia Napa area ?
Never been to Cyprus before, where's Ayia Napa ? Larnaca ?
Is this the best to stay for some nightlife ?
Probably gonna stay a few days , so any recommendations for hotels would be appreciated.
We would be up for sharing a minibus to the game.

Hiya mate Agia Napa is around 30 min s drive east from Larnaca.Protaras will be more or less shut down apart from one or two bars.Likewise Agia Napa will be a lot quieter than in the summer but a few bars will be open.If your in that area there is a place called Kapparis thats in between Paralimni and Protaros that has a few bars that will be open.

Here are the distances to Nicosia for anyone staying:

Larnaca - 30 miles
Limassol - 52 miles
Paphos - 94 miles
I've got a hotel room going spare in Limassol for the Wednesday and Thursday night's. Pay on arrival. £48 4 the 2 nights. I'd just need to change the name on the booking. Pm if interested. Thanks

Anyone staying in Larnaca?
Also, noticed Spurs have only got 1100 tickets for their game against APOEL in the same stadium.

Apoel's average is about 3 times that of Limassol's so combine that with it being 52 miles away & hopefully we will get more.

Thats the standard 5% allocation. Hopefully we might get given more as Limassol is 52 miles from Nicosia, and the casual locals will have had their fill of European football watching Tottenham, Dortmund and Real Madrid.

Limassol have tickets on sale for their home game vs. Lyon, as well as three-game packages. You will notice that they are not selling tickets for the North Stand. This stand holds 4,700 and is the stand Wales were given in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, when they received an allocation of around 4,000. I can't find any details on what Lyon have been allocated, but logic suggests that they might have a pretty decent allocation...

Is anyone on the 09:45 flight from Stansted to Paphos on the Wednesday morning that is staying in Nicosia and has space in a taxi/minibus from the airport for 2 people?

Cheers

There's not much in Larnaca, from memory - at least relative to some resorts in Cyprus

We're staying in Nicosia on Weds and Thurs night, but flying into and out of Larnaca

Advantage of Nicosia is that with it being the capital, it isnt really seasonal like some bits of Cyprus

Might change then, spend a night in larnaca, 2 nights in Nicosia, and then in ayia Napa or paphos

Flights and hotel booked, am coming from Dubai with a layover in Beirut.

Arrive Wednesday 6th 20:45
Leave Friday 8th 22:25

Staying in Larnaca both nights near the marina: https://goo.gl/maps/tv4FKjJjMQH2

Any ideas how we get up to the GSP Stadium? Reckon there would be a coach on from the club? If anyone else is in Larnaca could look into hiring a minibus there and back.

I am mate. Just posted above with details. Thinking of swapping the Thursday night hotel to somewhere near the stadium though
