Davies has come into the first team and we've all seen how well he has performed, Joe Williams I rated very highly, before
he got injured, thought he was better than Davies, haven't seen him since he came back, he's got it in him to do very well,
he hasn't let the bad injury get him down or hold him back, looks like he is having a good go at getting back to where he was, I rate Walsh at least the equal of those two but hasn't had the chances the other two lads have had, don't know the
reason, maybe Eggs is correct and Koeman doesn't rate him, if he leaves Everton it will be our loss and some other teams
gain, and it will be a big loss.

Ryan Ledson is another good player, was offered a decent contract at the end do lastl year, didn't want to play reserve team
football for the next couple of years and had the confidence to go to a lower league and play first team football, I believe hois in the running for player of the season in that league with Oxford Unt.

Which player would you compare Walsh and Williams too?

Surely with Ledson he would have stayed if he was told he would go on loan to oxford...seems weird to just sell him with no buyback?

The transition from u23 to PL football is a massive and has to be carefully managed. While we see a clearly talented player, we know next to nothing about his psychological make up for instance, how does he cope with set backs ? How would he respond to fans criticism because , believe it or not , some of our fans can be quite critical of young players if they don't perform like world class superstars after two games.
It may be given his size that waiting a year will give him a chance to grow or bulk up and be better prepared for the rigours of the PL? We will just have to wait and see I suppose. Ultimately rushing a player through before they are ready can damage or blight a career.

Very disappointed young Walsh hasn't been given a go. In my opinion he's a better player than Davies. I can only think it's do with his size, because I just don't get why he hasn't had a sniff. His attitude reminds me of Peter Reid.

If he wasn't going to be given a chance then we should have let him go out on loan again, it's not like their wasn't teams who didn't want to take him.

Will be making a big mistake if we let this lad go without giving him a chance.

Tom Davies did it this Walsh lad is virtually MOTM week in week out for the under 23s he has been injured though - one for the future !

My older brother stated he reminds him of the great Bobby Collins a midfield terrier Collins only wore size 4 boots when you got no protection a tiger of a midfielder who went on to coach Giles , and Bremner, we should never have sold Collins high praise if Walsh is like him!

I understand what your saying , and would love him to break through and emulate Davies. My point is we don't know enough to make an absolute judgement on whether he is ready . There are many imponderables we may not be aware of . We have to trust the management to make the correct decisions, as they have with Davies, for instance.

Yes he did have a long injury this season did Walsh - my older brother who has watched the blues since 1957 has seen him play never seen potential like the day he seen the great Bobby Collins when he was in short trousers - the little pocket battleship was Collins a great tribute to this Walsh kid;)

I've watched Liam a few times this season, saw him quite a bit last season when at Yeovil. I love watching him play. The way he runs games, dominates the midfield. Loves a tackle, a wide range of passing and gets a goal. Always thought he'd get a chance this season, especially with his performances in the U23's.

So I was surprised to see Joe Williams make the bench last night before Liam, especially after his injury. Maybe Koeman doesn't rate Walsh?!

He's a cracking little player, but the bit in bold below sums it up ...

Every time I have seen him play this season for the U23's he has been the standout performer, plays a similar role to Barry and Schneiderlin. Maybe not bigger enough and powerful enough for Koeman to try him yet, but certainly looks a player.

Kante? Can't be just that.

He reminds me of Osman, good footballing brain, technically adept, but may just fall a little short in the pace/power department that is a pre-requisite these days:)

I was told (by a lad off here actually) that Ledson left because of an issue with his dad who worked for the club.

I never saw Collins but Walsh reminds me of an older Paul Scholes. Williams is harder to pin down, he used to play as a defensive midfielder but has shown he's got a bit more to his game. He can tackle, press, works hard and quite a tall lad. A bit of an all action guy, hard to pinpoint who he reminds me of currently really. No-one special in all honesty, but someone who blends in and is quite effective.

To be honest, i dont think its about rating one over the other, its more about giving the players the experience. They may not have gotten minutes but being around the first team leading up too and during a big game at Old Trafford is good experience for a young player.
