Great shout to be fair. I.e., it's easier to confuse him with a Sunday league pub player.Reminds me of an Evan Ferguson style career trajectory this lad

All-around forward play. He can actually hold onto the ball. He's scored 1 goal all season, in 26 games. What kind of upgrade is that?

He’s not coming to us he’s going back to Ipswich on loan I thinkplaying with better players around him yet just seems unable to be on the same wavelength. will prolly head back to ipswich on loan or hull/boro
A valid argument, but you're missing one minor detail. With very, very few exceptions, Everton has been a graveyard for strikers for years. The only players who match expectations are 2nd rate strikers like, erm, our current lot.Ok then, I’ll play Delap’s/Devil’s advocate here and suggest that I think we should sign him. I’ve seen him a bit this season and he has been really bad, BUT I also saw him a bit last season when he did look to have the kind of profile and potential we should be in for - and losing form and confidence for a few months doesn’t mean we shouldn’t sign him, it just means we should be looking to haggle a few million off the fee.
I think nowadays it’s more important to be able to hold the ball up, do lots of running the channels and be able to bring your teammates into the play. Obviously scoring is important, but it’s not the number one attribute given how much more team-oriented the game is now.Call me old-fashioned, but I like my centre forwards banging the ball into the back of the net. Once they start awarding points for holding the ball up, Delap is worth considering
A dud. Can see us signing him for sure.
I think you just made a case for getting rid of your man Moyes thereStylistically I think he is a better fit for us.

Often we are under pressure and have no one up front who can serve as a target and who can relieve pressure by just driving up into the corners.
