Basically this is really only relevant to Liverpool born and raised.

Heard on the local news today that Lewis's is closing. I was sort of struck dumb, Lewis's packing in. Lewis's is iconic, Liverpool without Lewis's is like pizza with no bread.

Lets be honest Lewis's was the first sex lesson to many a young girl fortunatley that symbol is not to disappear. But the store closing.:(

Lewis's is 'too far outside town' for the modern shopper, apparently. Way up there in the wilds of Renshaw Steet. How lazy are these ******* people walking round town these days? "Not going there, lid. It's hundreds of yards away. Taxi ride up there? Nein Danke, kidda".

I would be sad to see it go, it seems that there is no place for independant stores any more on our globalised high streets. I'm assuming that the building is listed and the outside will remain as it is should the site be redeveloped.

I see alot of similarities in the stadium move and I've come to the conclusion that English people don't like to do anything if it's not right outside the front door...and they are diametrically opposed to any from of structural change.

It's just plain wrong .

Right, if everyone gives me loads of money, I'll buy it and open it under my name, which would mean it stays exactly the same!!:D

I'd say we have a pretty good Government here mate. Rudd is miles better looking, better sounding, can speak fluent Chinese and regularly appears on comedy shows including 'Good News Week' last week, possibly the funniest show around at the moment. Your PM is right knob jockey by all accounts. We have a re-energized opposition with a new leader who is famous for his 'why aren't women ironing?' comment to his love of the budgie smuggler. The Government said sorry to the Aboriginies last year, and they get ten-fold more social benefits than the rest of us 'australians' do. The Maori's fared pretty well when the English tried to conquer them, its a pity the Aboriginals didn't have quite the leadership back then.

Well, we saw how the British Empire turned out. Go pick on the Falklands again you bullies. If Patton hadn't held your hands in Africa, and we hadn't sent all our finest to get you out of the [Poor language removed], you'd be speaking German now, mein LCAB.

NSW , for example , .. must be nice to have significant parts of your , hot , sticky , fly-ridden , spider-filled land called after somewhere else !!!

We were going to call it little England, but we wanted something more respectable.

See above for the Aborigines, I wonder if you guys have apologised to the *insert list of every innocent people the British have raped, pillaged and killed since...say the french handed you your arses in 1066. You'd probably have to start when King Richie decided to go a kill a whole bunch of Muslims the first time round on the 'Crusades', it would take you awhile to get to the all the native islanders you wiped out, the American Indians, the Zulu's, the Subcontinental Indians...etc...etc.*

I'd say that would be a fair blood soaked history of apologies there LCAB.

L.C.A.B. makes homemade music with Rolf's piece of wood , ....

We better put a patent on that or someone in England will claim they invented it.

I did leave these shores thinking the world loved the British, didn't take long to start getting told tales of barbarism from natives of far away climes, Samoans in particular told me of polo 'games' where people were buried in the sand upto their necks.

A Maori did say to me though that for all that we did regarding them, if the French had arrived instead of us then he doubts that there would've been any of them left at all.

Fortunately though the majority don't hold us accountable for the actions of our ancestors, which stopped me in turn from holding every German accountable for the World Wars, something that a lot still do.
