Problem is, the guy that returned to take his place is their club captain Moore. He may have returned too early considering how it went, but it's hard to see Gibson get another chance after just the one bad result with Moore.

Problem is it's turning out very expected considering where they sent him.

...absolutely, but there is a widespread view that going on loan is like La La Land, where players play regularly, develop and come back ready to play for Everton. The reality is, it rarely turns out that way.

Maybe it would turn out like that more often if we didn’t send players on really bad loans.

I like Gibson but am starting to worry about his future. I thought he looked good at Fleetwood last season , he needs at least Championship level to progress and much as we might be irritated by Reading if he was rocking it every day in training nothing would keep an ambitious club from playing him. So he’s reliant on scraps of first team action he’s getting to make his mark . Hopefully yesterday's result will get him a few starts at least in future .
