If he does go it’s simply further confirmation that Brands wasn’t fit for purpose. 1 highly though of talent (Small) leaving is unfortunate, two within 6 months is unforgivable.
Appreciate brand is gone now but both these contracts should have been sown up before they got to this point, and Brand should have had this sorted before he parted ways.

Brands has left. If he leaves its 100% on Benitez and frankly so is Small, who left after Benitez came.

Questions will have to be asked of Benitez.

Hopefully gets some time off the bench, could be a good option to bring on with his pace and would like him to start woth dcl next game if fit

Benitez was appointed on 30th June 2021

After failing to show up for pre-season training with the U23s at Finch Farm last month, Thierry Small appears to have rejected all approaches from Everton to persuade him to sign a professional contract at the club.

It's a more than reasonable assumption to believe that Small had already decided before July that he didn't want to be at the club. He didn't turn up to pre season training in July.

To say it's on Benitez is ridiculous as the player had made his intentions clear that he wanted to leave the club within a few days of Benitez joining.

You’re joking? Small was rejecting the contract early this year, that’s why he was given a few minutes in the FACup game v Sheffield Wed. as a sweetener to sign the contract. Dobbin was offered a new contract at the start of this season, don’y know if Benitez had anything to do with it but it makes no difference Dobbin hasn’t signed it.

These days players and their agents especially well known players like Dobbin will be receiving offers from many clubs in England and Europe so will look at the best offers before signing for any club.

I don’t think Everton we’re to blame for Small leaving and they won’t be to blame if Dobbin goes elsewhere, is down to the lad himself, family and most of all the agent.

Exactly, blame Benitez for his errors, but not this nonsense. It destroys all their arguments because is is so crazy. If you genuinely believe this as an argument, you are in the same category as Flat eartgers, creationists, anti vaxers snd QAnon followers.

Exactly.

I don't understand it.
