Let's take a step back...

Your post makes no sense. You can only spend whatever income is brought into the club (FFP)

Of course the amounts spent will be more this year. Transfer fees are up, Sky deal.. etc etc

It is rare we ever have a positive net spend, and when we do it is minimal. If that changes this season lets see, but we don't know as yet.

Your very upset with life aren't you

Not at all mate. My life is very good thanks and I have a very broad perspective on it.

You can obviously spend more than is brought into the club - it's called debt. And it's been how we've operating for many years.

Until now.

I'm glad you notice that spending is up markedly up though. You're getting there mate. Now, if you can just break away from the tunnel vision of net spend being the only feasible rubicon of success and abject failure, and see that we are expanding and improving the squad, the management, the ground and the business - irrespective of the net spend holy grail - then you'll be making some real progress ;)

Oh, and sorry, being a bit slow there, but just noticed your bizarre statement at the top there...

If that's really the case (???), wtf are you bleating on about positive net spend for?? As, clearly, FFP doesn't allow it..

Everton made a massive profit this year, FFP only counts over 3 years period.

We will spend 150 mil without selling Rom, if we sell Rom we probably spend 200-250. No im not joking.

We arnt spending the Lukaku money...FACT

I don't think this spending spree has anything to do with the Rom/Barks situation. I believe Moshiri knows that for Everton to be seen as an attractive investment and to raise the profile of the club throughout Europe and beyond we have to be seen to attract young and upcoming players as well as slightly older and more established ones, to keep Ronnie happy by giving him the means to put a team out on the pitch capable of competing and if or when Rom/Barks leave that money will be reinvested although some may be held back for the January window in the event of injuries or if certain players don't cut the mustard. So far we have spent c.£100m but l can see us blowing another £60-£70m before Jim White's yellow tie day on 31 August.

I wonder what people will say if we drop another 40 mil next week, maybe that that will be the McCarthy money

Our signings have been good, I don't doubt that... but honestly how would people react if the RS/any of the teams above us had signed Pickford or Keane for a total (forget add ons) of 60 million? Let's not go overboard and let's not be hypocritical. Some people on these forums are acting as if every other team in the league is bricking it because we've spent 30 million on a few players- other teams have been doing this for years.

I think people's excitement at the fact that this is the first window in what seems like forever that we've actually spent some money is clouding people's judgement. We're late to the party and have a lot of catching up to do, but we've finally made a start. Can we please just keep the gloating to a minimum? Let other clubs run their mouths.

Know what you're saying mate, but Mbappe is 18 and has had one season in the top flight. There's no guarantee he'll kick on.

I know what you mean but I meant in terms of global hype.

I don't actually can't believe the price Mbappe is being touted for, scored a few goals in the champions league?
