Let there be SNOW

Its [Poor language removed].

Not wanting to be a party pooper, but the Snow thing doesn't work well in my browser.

I keep getting a horizontal scrollbar appearing. As I develop in Safari, I prefer to do my browsing in it also.

If you want me to help debug and see if I can find a fix for it, probably some simple CSS, can do. In the meantime, how do I turn it off. :)

Could always stop being anal and use firefox for 5 mins to appreciate the love. Would you expect anything else from me mate?

(I think the snow is [Poor language removed] actually, but I think that is why we still use it)

Its simple javascript.

As easy as;

<script type="text/javascript" src="snow.js"></script>

Your browser should support it.

Well the horizontal scrollbar keeps appearing and it shifts my browser up and down ever so slightly, but enough to distract me from the site.

Odd.

But as I say, it couldn't be a more simple feature. Its simplicity means it can't be amended. So no debug is needed, and certainly no amendment to any CSS.

Your browser really should support it. Very odd that it doesn't.

Like I said.

Ball swings back into Dannys court. Surfs up

Exactly the same for me. Scroll bar appearing, shifting then going. Slowing down page loading, shifting the page up and down the screen. Happening in IE and Chrome.

Even happening as I'm typing this. Making me feel sick.

I'll have to take a winter holiday from GOT - see you for transfer speculation in summer. (y)

I was joking when I said it may cause nausea.

It works fine for me in Firefox and IE - I'm not concerned about anything else, given that 98% of our traffic use these browsers. The other 2% can put up with it, or open up another browser... sorry Ghost (y)

IE http://www.grandoldteam.com/images/ie.jpg
Firefox http://www.grandoldteam.com/images/firefox.jpg

The only downside is people on very poor computers will experience a bit of lag, especially if several windows are open.

Now working fine for me in IE. I'm just getting my skis on, the mrs is building an igloo, and there's some yellow stuff where my little lad's just been.

Is there no way to turn it off? There was last year.

What's the script called anyway? Is it jQuery?

I believe it has something to do with you using a full width div for your content. I had a look at the script on the owners site and he only has it on a fixed width div.

Not to worry, I'll just Firefox.

One other thing though, someone on another site reported that the script eats memory, just a heads up. But I suppose nobody reported it last year, but then again people here use IE so what do they know? :)
