Lescott : would you have him back?

Lescott is a top player and i would have him back in a heart beat. I have never been confident in our defence since he left and it is evident that chemistery between him, Jags and Baines is missing. My stomach turns every time the opposition attacks us in fear of conceding a daft goal. With Lescott i never once had that fear, throw an ever improving coleman in to the mix and we have a realistic chance of breaking that top four. One of my favourite EFC player, Get him home DM

God knows why, our defence is fine.

I hope you are being sarcastic with this quote, poor defending has cost us a lot of points lately in particular from set pieces.

Arsenal, Spurs, City. 3 goals conceded, 2 stupid deflections and 1 arguable penalty. None of which were a direct result of bad defending.

I'd say our defence is fine in the grand scheme of things. And, i bet if you went back and looked at when Lescott was here we probably didn't concede noticeably more or less goals.

Thats a fair point mate but if you flip the coin then you could say poor defending cost us against Fulham, Norwich and Reading three games you would expect us to win and leave no doubt as to us making a push for the top four. By the way when was the last time our defenders where a real threat in the opposition area? Lescot brings tha to the table.

Don't think the return of Gibson can be overlooked either. We look so much better defensively with him in the side.

To be fair mate he gave Barkley a brand spanking new contract and then he went off on loan. I think Fox has a point that as it stands Moyes won't play Shane unless he's really needed (which i think is stupid, but it's how Moyes works).

It is amazing how Everton, despite the sustained lack of cash, manage to consistently punch above their weight. It's also amazing that football men, to a man, constantly hand out plaudits to our useless manager.

Not sure how stating a fact (that Moyes doesn't like bringing in younger players) equals saying he's a useless manager.

David Moyes ultimately is judged by results.
I don't think he would get that much support on this forum if he were to start playing youngsters like Barkley and Duffy on a regular basis and we started losing matches on a regular basis.
It is an ultra competitive professional sport,if these youngsters are to get first team games they are going to force the managers hand into playing them and that is done every day at training.
When the manager feels that a young player has something to contribute to the first team he will play them.

Nobody said anything about them playing on a regular basis. And thats the point, perhaps what he 'feels' is wrong.
