Lescott : would you have him back?

I do get it, im not an idiot! I merely disagree with you.

You mentioned people living in a dreamland earlier, I think you are living in one yourself here.

Dont get me wrong, in an ideal world I agree fully with what you are saying, but the footballing world isnt ideal.

Players are nothing more than commodities. He didnt break his contract anyway, he asked for a transfer which is the proper way to go about it. Afterwards he forced the issue somewhat but every player does that or is capable of it.

Do you think that all the players that we have signed in the past have been angels when it comes to leaving their former club? Of course not. Its just how it is. I dont get why Lescott gets so much stick when players like Arteta are revered by a lot of our fans. There is no difference in how they left the club in my eyes.

I think the biggest mistake people can make these days is to treat players like they are something special who would do anything for the club. Its not like that anymore, if it ever was in the first place.

I meant that you didn't get where i was coming from mate. I know you're not an idiot (y)

The Arteta comparison is pretty weak to be fair. He had the chance to go before he did, but Moyes asked him to stay for another year because he thought we could get Champions League, and he did. Not really the same as Lescott jumping at the first sign of a big wage packet.

We did receive a welcome £22m for Lescott - only £5m less than Rooney.

If he put on the Royal Blue Jersey i'd forgive and forget and fall madly in love with him again.

He would improve us but i still wouldn't be happy about it.

It's like a bird ditching you for a guy with more money, who then comes crawling back because he's found someone with bigger tit's. She might be good in bed, but that's not the point!

But it was alright for Pienaar to do exactly the same?

The way they did it was different. Still, I'd have him back on loan. Have him make up for what he's done and get us to 4th.

To be honest, I don't have a particular problem with either of them. But Lescott played against Arsenal and had a stinker. Pienaar refused to play at Anfield in case he got injured before his move. I know which one I think is worse.

Peanut told Moyes his mind wasn't right. Clearly Lescott's mind wasn't right, and he proceeded to whine and go out and play horribly until he got his move. I don't blame Pienaar for coming out and saying he wasn't in the right frame of mind to play. I wouldn't be if I was being told 100 different things a day and not knowing what my future held. I might have the Pienaar story wrong, but that's how I remember it. Please correct me if I do.

You're right, but aren't you saying the same as me? Pienaar refused to play for Everton at Anfield because he wanted to leave. As I said, I'm not bothered but to me that is much worse than a player who has a poor game. To be fair Lescott wasn't even the worst player on the pitch against Arsenal. We got webbed because every player stank that day.

He didn't WANT to leave, he wanted a fair pay rise, and he had to go somewhere else to get that.

Deffo, as I said I don't really have a problem with either of them leaving. Lescott had an opportunity to get stupid money and a premier league winners medal, Pienaar went to someone willing to pay him what he wanted. All I'm saying is Pienaar refusing to play against Liverpool to me is worse than Lescott having a poor game against Arsenal but Pienaar was welcomed back with open arms yet some people don't want Lescott back.
