Lescott : would you have him back?

No. Do you want him to use us to put himself in the shop window? Secondly, he won't come back on perm anyway, he is on 90k per week right?

And as an Evertonian, I will never forget how he treated this club.

We will sign Forren.

We were bad against arsenal. I couldn't honestly pin the blame on lescott though... I know moyes did, but there you go.

cheese on toast

It wasnt just how he played or how we conceded it was his whole demeanor. He was in a massive strop and didnt want to play. He strolled out of the tunnel head down, didnt acknowledge the fans (most of who were clapping him and giving him a chance) and then yes, proceeded to play like an absolute ****house which I still think was semi deliberate.

I'd prefer Duffy getting his deserved chance, as Deloodid said.

The game was defo at Goodison Brenno

Id have him back, as i would have Rooney back.

id prefer to give Duffy a chance tho.

No way should either come back, they had there chance and let people down. In ten years time, when Lescott goes to City and gets a light ripple of applause from their supporters at a Champions reunion dinner, then he will know what Jags and Baines will get for staying at a club where it means more than money to where the shirt. They will get a standing ovation fifty times louder than Lescott receives at City.

Everton means more to me than to accept some scally [Poor language removed] leaving at 18, having his peak years then returning on his terms when he thinks he has fallen to Everton's level. Good riddance to both!

I'm sure Lescott would rather have been a key man winning the league and have a couple more million in the bank rather than getting cheered at a dinner party, I'm blue to the core but if I was in Lescott's or Rooney's shoes I'd move, footballers have to look after their families.

In my opinion the truth is as usual somewhere in the middle. I don't mind players leaving clubs we're all grown ups and there are always clubs bigger but it's how the player does it and behaves that's crucial. Lescott frankly didn't turn up in that arsenal game whilst let's not forget pienaar 'wasn't mentally right' to play in a derby match a fact others seem to have forgotten , let's compare that to James Milner who despite an imminent move to city played, scored , got MOM & a standing ovation in his last game. Lescott wanted to leave for big money and to be part of a 'project' whilst pienaar had wanted the same deal as Arteta but money was a driving force for both of them.

Moyes took pienaar back in a heartbeat so it wouldnt surprise me if we did the same again although i think the players age & long term prospects of a deal would probably make it less likely. Large amount of us would moan if he came back but like so many footy fans whatever we say we'd get over it like city did with tevez & united with Rooney and numerous other clubs did with numerous other players .

I've posted before Players move and do so so often without giving an seconds thought for their fans or clubs , one of the most telling quotes I've ever had said to me about football from someone in the game fits perfectly in here "players are c@nts , they just dont care and once you realise that you've got chance in this game".

I think it would take a massive swallowing of pride from Lescott to come back. Despite winning the league many would portray it as he couldn't cut it and back to your station.

I think he'll hold out for a side where there's at least a pretence of winning things I.e. a club like Arsenal.

I'd rather have me Nan at CB than that greedy ****e hawk, he made his pact with the devil he can stick wtih it.

I'd send my ST back if that [Poor language removed] ever pulls on the Royal Blue again.

He would improve us if he performs but would he?

I remember arsenal at home. If he doesn't give a ****, it'll be like that every game.

We took pienaar back and he refused to play in the derby!!

I'd have Lescott back, you should never burn any bridges in football, you never know what might happen, and Lescott for sure would improve our defence and also provide a goal threat going forward like he always did.

I totally understand your feelings mate but did pienaar's return create the same response or was the arsenal game more important than the derby ?

He would be an absolutely excellent signing that would go a long, long way to sureing up our weak and inadequate defence. Bring Lescott back and we will end up having a greater points tally at the end of the season, it’s as simple as that!

It’s funny how some players are afforded more excuses than others, apparently you “Couldn’t blame†Fellaini for moving to a bigger club if/when they come in for him. People had Pienaar back, people say they would have Rooney back, yet there doesn’t seem to be the same understanding for Lescott.

He didn’t play to the best of his ability in the Arsenal game, but he wasn’t the only Everton player to do so on that day!

There is no point in cutting your nose off to spite your face, which is exactly what some people are suggesting that we do on this subject.
