I will never understand the "should have offered Osman and Hibbert coaching roles" brigade. Why would you want two at their best bang-average footballers coaching your youth players? They're a pair of losers and we're not a charity who hands out jobs.

I liked Ossie, but he's past it. Played very few games last season, and looked well off the pace and past it when he did. And that was just playing a few League Cup games. I dont see the point in signing a player if they wont improve the first 11, or at the very least, wont be available to plug a gap should we get a few injuries. The way I see it, he can do neither anymore. So no thanks.

They were disciplined professional players I'm sure they have experience and knowledge to pass on, imagine being being stuck in a training session with Gascoigne and Van Der Meyde, it be would be like trying to make sense of Bill and Ben the flower pot men. Average players can make good coaches and exceptional Managers.

Thought Ossie was a decent player who contributed a lot over the years despite his small build which must have been a bit hindrance for him.

Good servant, weighed in with some vital goals, but unless the u23's are useless what is the point?
