Osman was a good player for us. Tailed off badly towards the end of his Everton career but was a good player for us for many years. If he had gone when he should I doubt that he would be getting this much hate directed at him.
All the hate appears to be about him as a person. Which I find ridiculous. He was a good player. One of my favourites. Couldn't give a hoot if he supported the RS or wasn't bezzie mates with everyone.

On his day he was a very good player with sweet feet but once in 4 or 5 games was of no benefit to us. Was easily swept aside and had divers boots on. You could see a good player in him and we seen it not often enough.

He was proper boss for about a week in 2010 when we beat United, Chelsea, and Lisbon in quick succession. Osman played deep center-mid in each game due to injuries and - somewhat inexplicably - bossed all three games.

He was boss again the following year when Cahill was injured and he scored a headed winner against Man City, being played in the hole behind the number 9.

For almost the entirety of his career aside from those two spells he played on the wing where he was frequently useless due to a lack of pace. Moyes' preference for Cahill behind his striker was Osman's undoing. He must wonder what might've been if he'd been played central more often but he still had a decent career. A couple of England caps is the best he was ever going to be.

For someone who spent almost his whole career with us some of the comments her are beyond the pale. Get that some people never rated him but some of the personal stuff directed against him is cringeworthy.
