Yes I'm quite sure Neville just decided one day that it was time to go. There will have been no word from the manager at all that his time was up.
There was a clear suggestion that Osman should have already fallen on his sword and took a hike. A suggestion by his haters, no doubt. A veteran player should quit when the manager tells them they're no longer wanted. They should not be expected to make that call themselves.
Wrong - two clubs one at Derby made bids - the other club offered half a million - DM called him back off loan and played him in the first team - he was a great success at Derby, and we were 17th in thE Prem!
Ossis shouLd have played at least a full season instead of his 2nd loan spell - it was the era when DM was playing has beens like Gazza etc!
DM only played youth potential in the Europa, or league cup games, often players like Osman, and Rooney were played out of position ie on the right wing - Duffy had 5 good prem games - = being dropped immediately for Distan , an aging player, like wise with Coleman imo sent out on lone while playing the over the hill Hibbert!Didn't Moyes let Gazza go to Burnley within weeks of taking over as gaffer?

do not get me wrong RM apart from immediately introducing Ross Barkley into the team in the correct position initially last season has talked the talk over some of our great youngsters coming through has been reluctant to use them apart from Garbutt once who is now in contract talks , and looks a very good prospect who we may lose to the team over the park, which would be sad - I do not want to see another Phill Neville situation where one of our players gets a game for two seasons too long just because of his reputation - Another player looking like that after one good season so far is Gareth Barry who has to do better than he has so far this season, also Jags, and Distan need replacing as well as our Goalkeeper in the near future - the fact long contracts have been handed out to older players with our finances tight is slightly worrying imo!
Getting back to Osman I agree he has been a great servant from a trainee onwards, and is past. His best, but a very good playmaker who can be an asset as a 60 mins player now it would be a sad loss if he has to pack in due to a bad injury, any fan being glad of that needs to look at themselves - not always a favourite with everyone including me sometimes, but you have to realise mostly he was chosen to play out of position!
always gave his all for the causeThere can be no doubt that he has served us loyally. A true model pro.

pmsl, aye. There can be no doubt that he has served us loyally. A true model pro.
If he was going to retire he would surely do it sooner rather than later to save us his wages and we may be able to get some insurance money?
That's a bit much to be honest.Tbh i think he should be hung.
