He's still gash.

I'm genuinely dumbfounded that some of our own fans think he's a bad player.![]()
Because he is.

75% of the time he's garbage and an absolute passenger on the pitch, it's been that way his whole career. He has had some great moments and scored some massive goals down the years yes but the bad games have FAR outnumber the good games. Fact is he's not good enough to play for Everton, least not as a starter, and he hasn't been for about 5 years. Many have never forgiven him and Hibbert for their deplorable performances in the FA Cup final where they effectively lost us the game on that right side. Many people have been waiting for us to get shot of him for years but we never have and it shows what softies we are.
And obtained England caps in the process. If he's been as poor as you're insinuating how come he got to play so often for one of the top teams over the last 5 years?
I don't mind Osman, but England caps is hardly a reliable signifier of quality, especially as he only has 2.And obtained England caps in the process.

Because no other club wanted him, they could see he was not good enough so we had to keep him.
Hodgson felt sorry for him and the games were not that important.
