Ossie still can have a role in this squad and be very important for our depth as he still has skills that can cause problems for the opponents defense. However, he should NEVER be playing in the center of the midfield. He doesn't have the legs or any ability to make a stop on defense. Right now the only ones in the squad who can play in the middle are McCarthy, Barry (our starters), Gibson and Barkley. Ideally for matches where we are missing or McCarthy or Barry (or rotating the squad) we need to have Barkley drop deeper unless Gibson is fit again. Especially against lower table teams. The stretches where Fulham where taking the game to us it was when Barry and Osman where called upon to move the play forward. Osman receiving the ball while running towards our d is going to result in turnovers since his natural inclination is to turn with the ball.

Looked better when Barkley dropped deeper and ossie went forward.

Did piss me off though in the second half when he tried a through ball, it was cut out and instead of chasing back to stop fulham on the counter attack he just stood there looking up into space

Good squad player Osman, proved it yesterday. Could do a job in a squad capacity for anyone in the league outside the top 3, be a regular for anyone outside the top 9. I understand why he gets stick when he's in are starting XI regularly, but over the Christmas period, he'll be a big asset for us.

I see Fulham brought loads again.

I think he'll be n the side next week and Ross will be the impact sub, given the number of games we have. Maritime will want to reward him for coming in and being the best player

As I said before in the Barkley thread, we looked better once Barkley swapped positions with Ossie in the 2nd half.

But I think that's more credit to Ross rather than a jab at Osman. Anyway, Ossie's picked up recently. Will surely be benched for the next game, and to be fair to him, he's done well off the bench this season.

Totally agree with this and it's boss having a manager who recognises things and makes changes.
