GOT - Get Osman Tarnished.

Every Osman hater in the world must post on this website. I've never read so much unwarranted, unadulterated trash about any player as i do about Osman on this website.

The criticism of his playing ability is laughable. Now that he's got a new contract and so will be at the club for a bit longer yet, the critics are now trying to attack his character. Look, if there is something of genuine interest, irrespective of whether at this stage it can be confirmed, then let's hear it, so we can all make a judgement. What's the problem with disclosing?

The amount of times i have been left frustrated, shouting and mumbling profanitries because of Osman, far outweigh the 55 goals and good things he has done on the pitch. He is absolutely bang average and those stats of almost 400 games and goals do not tell the whole picture. I've never really been one for stats anyway and i judge a player based on what i see with my own eyes.

Absolutely bang average and a few decent goals here and there won't sway me.

Somewhere between Dougie's unswerving loyalty (possibly that of a close friend or relative?) and those who bash Osman at every turn lies the truth about our No. 21. Yes, he took a goal well last night and I was as happy as any Blue to see it, the fact remains efforts like that remain the frustrating exception to the rule. For every game in which he's scored a goal or picked out a great defence-splitting pass, there are five where he's done absolutely squat save for getting bundled off the ball every time he touches it. If he had more efforts like last night, he'd have a lot fewer doubters.

He was decent for a club on the outside of the top looking in. Not great, but solid.

He then got older and the team got better. He's now a liability on the pitch. Best we can hope for from him is to not f up too bad and maybe produce a bit of magic.

He does have some footballing skill, and I think he would have thrived under Martinez had he been manager in Ossies youth/prime. But it's not enough to overcome his physical deficiencies as he ages.

Now that I'm done with my real opinion - he is literally Satan and needs to be stopped at all cost.

Its not that i am bashing him per se, but he just exemplifies a player that is not up to the standards of the rest of the team to me. One example last night, ball is bouncing around the pitch, it falls just past Osman. He is in full 'sprint', and a Lille player turns and starts running to the ball at the same point Osman passes him. He beats Osman to the ball. Osman running at 'full speed' cant even beat a player that is standing still.

People who bash Lukaku for not being able to control a ball should at least own up and point fingers at Osman for not being able to do the simple things like not get knocked off the ball every single time anyone is near him.

"You don't get many footballers celebrating their testimonial. The way he is enjoying his football, the way he took his goal yesterday - that is him," says Martinez. "He has great composure, has real style and quality. The extra year is a reward he deserves for his quality.

"The club is moving forward and we need to all maintain our fitness. We hope Leon Osman is fully fit for many many years to come, and write more pages of history with Everton. He is a special footballer."

Some of it may be slightly over the top, but theirs valid reasons to question his playing ability

What so you believe that Osman conspires behind Martinez's back, even though Martinez plays him in almost every game and has just given him a new contract and has just lead the club to a record points haul in his first season, and is seemingly universally loved in the football community, because some faceless people on the Internet say so?

I can believe what I want to believe dougie.

This is the way I see it.

I think he's a clever player with a good football brain and good ability.

However, I want Everton to be the best, or at least kick on to the next level.

I believe we have the manager to do so, and we have some players to do so. We possibly need a few more better players.

I don't think Leon Osman is good enough to be in a team at that next level, or even enough of a personality to be a match winner and win anything with us.

Bringing him on late in games could be an option where he will have the legs to make an impact but he simply can't for 90, he gives the ball away too cheaply and too often to be in a team so reliant on possession.

I'd love him to prove me wrong and win some silverware at the club but he just doesn't strike me as a winner.
