he doesn't get the praise from the media although to me he is the best english left back for some time. Ashley cole can put in good crosses but Baines can deliver only better. Ashley Cole is a dodgy defender while Baines has been ever reliable and very solid. Ashley cole can't take freekicks while Bainsy is a master.

The lad has got immense stamina and composure and he looks like a blessing for Everton. He resembles alot like "Giacinto Facchetti" to me.

He never complains about anything, gives more than 100 % in every match and now is the heartbeat of Everton just like Cahill, Arteta and Jagielka. I don't know what exactly will we do without him cos there are no better Left Backs out there.

The lad deserves his own solid thread, forgive me if there is any already specifically for Leighton Baines.

Keep up the good work Bainsy mate, you're a top example to the likes of Luke Garbutt and Jack Bidwell

I wouldn't trade Baines for ANY other LB in the world. Fact.

It was the perfect free kick. Inch perfect into the corner, up and down in a flash, no chance anyone could have saved it.

Cole would get in any team in the world without doubt! Baines wouldn't. Its good he isn't recognised by other clubs because he is a quality player...... 'One of the best in the premiership". Just not as good as Cole.

What annoys me is that everyone who says Cole is better can't say why. They just say it, because it's the default, media-perpetuated opinion: Ashley Cole is infallible and the best LB in the world. But look at him, really. He's ace, no doubt, but his talents are exaggerated, quite a bit, and Baines' are ignored.
