Leighton Baines

If moving Baines into CM works, I can see him going well into his 30s. From all I've read and what we see in games, his fitness is impeccable. Not going to far to say he's probably my all time favourite Everton player.

Ridiculous that after finally seeing Ashley Cole off the media are now making out that its a coin toss between Shaw and Baines as to who Hodgson will pick. Baines has been one of Europe's best left backs for about three seasons. How Shaw made team of the season ahead of Baines or Azpilicueta i'll never know.

Made this fetid excuse for a human being's team of the year, too.

He has a lot of quality, he strikes the ball very well and, with good players around him, England can benefit from that. We have to be very careful,” he says. “Rooney has that will to win and this is a good chance for him. I read [Roy] Hodgson saying that people were piling responsibility on to him
