If he was staying he'd have signed by now. Best of luck with your next adventures Leighton and thanks for the good times.

If he's leaving he's earned it. Cracking servant to the club over the years and one of the few players we've had in the premierleague era i would say was the best in his position for a period of time.

His been a great servant to the club but if he wants a 2 year deal on the wages his already on, it makes no financial sense to keep him as on wages of over 3.4 million a year ;-( We offered a 1 year deal and it seems his not happy with it so let him leave and let the french lad we signed be Digne's back up and later if staff opportunity comes up for Baines when his experience in the role offer him a job here

Absolutely! He deserves a rapturous send off but unfortunately won't be able to get one. I would like to see him granted a testimonial in a year's time though so the fans can give him a standing ovation. Just a crying shame the likes of him, Arteta and Cahill weren't able to win anything with us :(

Sincerely doubt the new contract offer will be on 70k

If he doesn't end up signing for another year, it's a crying shame that his time at the club has to end like this. He deserves a proper send off with a packed house at Goodison.

At his peak he was the best player in their position that we've had at Everton for a long, long time.

At his peak he was the best left back in the entire world.
Ill pull one out your book :) Fixed it for you

Think if he starts we know it's his last game.

Shame though, defo think he has another year and it just gives us that extra window or two to spend on a replacement / give this 19 year old french lad a chance to go out on loan before he's asked to be back up to Digne.

Hopefully when things are back to normal we can bring him back for a testimonial or something.
